These works all take slogans and text as a starting off point.
ICE CREAM COLD SODA ICE CREAM sign is a study in the idea of genericised trademark, where a leading brand’s product name or in this case, color scheme and design, becomes a general signifier of that category of product. Here, the color scheme and border associated with Popsicle draws attention to a booth selling cans of soda and pre-packaged ice cream through vending machines.
WHAT YOU CRAVE is a call and response between the slogans and logos of two competing fast food companies.
THIRST/IMAGE is a a double-sided piece where the two-part slogan for a soda is spelled out in dimes embedded into poplar.
